A historic match! After 80 years Mexico finally beats les Bleus

The victory of Mexico over France has revived the enthusiasm of the fans and the local media considers it as historic. For the skeptics, like me, we were proven wrong. I have to admit that I had my doubts if the national team could overcome “Les bleus”, the sub-champions, and taking into account that Mexico has never beaten the French national team, since both teams first played back in the 1930 Uruguay FIFA World Cup opening match.

Empty seats: - I'm watching New Zealand v Slovakia

Last time I watched New Zealand's football team with any involvement was in 1982 when Steve Woodin was centre forward. He used to play for Winsford United where I was raised.

Anyway - empty seats. Simple. Why doesn't FIFA just allocate non-taken seats to local schools? Or to local poor people? Afterall it is everybody's World Cup Mr Blatter!
Slovakia are a bit of a mystery to me. But I dig their 2-6-1 formation. Well that's what it looks like!

FIFA Fan Fest at the heart of the Aztec Empire

The 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa is finally here, and the Mexican national team had to face one of its biggest challenge, playing the inaugural game with the host team. The whole country woke up to tune in and follow the TRI’s first big match on African soil. The lucky fans that managed to travel to Johannesburg and see the game from the stands of the Soccer City Stadium is the envy of millions here, but that didn’t stop, at least for 50 thousands Mexico City’s residents to experienced a World Cup “fiesta” at the very heart of the Aztec city, where the International FIFA Fan Fest is underway.
